Fundraiser 2003
We're in trouble...we almost lost the site last week. It costs $250 dollars a month just to keep Arthritis Insight and the chatroom up and running every month. Add to that the contributions to Gimpfests and sending out cheerbaskets and you can understand how quickly what money we get disappears. There are still no salaries being paid - we're all volunteers, but we've only got one official advertiser (thank you Sore No More) and it just doesn't cover costs. We know money is tight and that most everyone has their hand out to you already. But, as much as we hate to do it, we need to ask for money too. Running a site as large as Arthritis Insight isn't cheap and we want to be able to continue to maintain it for a long time.
We need your help! We decided a fun contest was the way to go, so here we are.
We want you to ask your friends, families, rheumatologists, dog catchers, etc for donations. And they don't have to dig deep, even a dollar will help. Send an email (we even made one for you!) to that huge list you have, you know, that list you forward all the jokes to. Send a snail mail letter to Aunt Hilda and ask her to donate to AI instead of sending you another bright pink knitted sweater for your birthday, go door to door in your neighborhood, have a bake sale, whatever works for you! Your friends can donate online using a credit card or e check through paypal or via snail mail with a check or money order. We have a form you can take to work, or the next family gathering. And we are offering some pretty cool prizes as incentive. As we tally our totals you'll be able to watch the progress right here. And with a little luck, we'll raise enough to keep the site running for a while.
Contest starts today and we'll run it thru May 15, 2003 then we'll announce a winner and award the prizes.

Don't forget to have your friends and family mark your name somewhere on their donation so you're sure to get credit for it.
And please don't forget Arthritis Insight is no longer a not for profit organization and your donation will NOT be tax-deductible. We switched back to a commercial site at the beginning of the year in hopes of making it easier for companies to advertise with us.
