My daughter just started Enbrel pre-filled syringes and found the needle to be very dull and painful. Are the Sure Click needles thinner and less painless?

I use the sure click and i dont think the needle hurts at all, its more the burn from the actually medicine. I cant even feel the needle!

I was using prefilled syringes for 2 months before I was able to get my pharmacy the code to order the sure click. I like the sure click much better! It is much faster, and I swear sometimes I dont even feel like the needle went in. I would recommend the stomach. I have never tried the leg, but woah! I heard it hurts more in the leg!! Good luck and let me know how she does with it.

Thanks so much for your responses. This is all new to us so we have a lot of questions. She is presently on MTX injections also but the needles for that are very thin and don't hurt at all. She just did her first shot of Enbrel last night and said today her pain level is not any lower but she feels much more energetic. Also, should you eat before doing Enbrel injection and can you take meds like Ibuprofen and Tylenol while on it? How long did it take until your pain started to go away? This Enbrel is scary and I'm very worried about her being on it. I appreciate any kind of advice and support. Thank you so much!

I just received a refill for Enbrel (25mg) and noticed that the rubber stopper on the syringe now screws off (instead of having to pull it out) and that the needles are most definitely duller than before.

hi
i have arthritis .and i just started enbril.i am so worried about the side effects and i want to know if it works
if i could be able to run one day or even walk with out pain
plz some body tell me if this medication really works
how long does it take to get better

As you probably know from reading posts here and elsewhere, everyone is
different. For some, Enbrel helps immensely and for other it
doesn't seem to do anything. The difficult part, is even if an
arhtritis medication is going to work for you, it may take quite a
while to "kick in". It's hard to be patient when you're in
pain!! According to the information I got with my Enbrel, it can
take anywhere from two weeks to three months before Enbrel becomes
effective.
Personally, I've been on Enbrel for almost two months. I've
noticed some improvement. I was first diagnosed a little over a
year ago. My doc put me on Methotrexate almost immediately.
For me that helped immensely. He just recently added the Enbrel,
and I think it's helping some.
I can do quite a few things I couldn't last year. I now go over
to the gym and work out three or four times a week. For some
reason in the last week, I've gotten comments from several different
people about how much better I seem to be getting around lately.

Enbrel has worked wonders for me. I noticed a difference hours after the first injection. But who knows about the long term effects, particularly the lymphoma connection...

The timing of my first 50mg sure click Enbrel shot coincided with my sixth week of taking Methotrexate. I'm not sure which medicine kicked in, or if it was the combination, but within 48 hours of the injection I feel soooooooo much better. I have more flexibility and have my energy back. Thank God!!! Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!
Does anyone else out there have Ankylosing Spondylitis? What meds work for you?

I was on Enbrel sure click 50 for 4 months got very bad injection on finger...hospiualized for 5 days and nights 2 surgeries on finger....was off of it for 6 months fighting the infection....started back on it ; was on for 3 weeks when feet and legs swelled terribly; and have bad headaches...called my rh dr she said stop the Enbrel....it's a shame because it really helped me immediately; now she wants me to start Humira; but I said no thanks.....no more of these drugs for me...I'm going to try herbs and exercise and meditation...good luck all...God bless
