I hope a moderator will read this...
I've tried contacting the "Web Wiz Forums" to let them know that something is going on with their forum. Every time I try to go to 'edit profile' (under Member Control Panel), I get a warning from WOT (Web of Trust) that it is unsafe (see image below). I get this same warning when trying to send a message to a moderator.  There are at least four choices under 'Member Control Panel' that does the same thing. Seems like the site has been hacked! On my iPad (a safe device that doesn't have a download risk), I went past where WOT would stop me and all I get is big "THANK YOU, CONGRATULATIONS!  "You've been selected from the region to take part in our annual visitor survey."  etc.  Asks me about how many videos a week I watch, am I happy with them, etc.  It's no one's business but mine. Looks like a privacy risk to me. See the reported feedback in images below. There are 3 pages of reports of spam/spyware, and I've only shown the first page. Please fix this or lose all of your members.  Thank you.

That's scary, RickF. I'm not a techie but this doesn't sound good. does it mean someone is getting our personal information from the site?

I don't think it's a problem if you just stay here in the forum where all the posts are, but if you try to edit your profile (mine's needed editing for months as Pred dosage is incorrect), you might be at risk.

Seems like I read on the UK forum that some members over there tried to register here and they got similar results as going to the 'profile' page.

Odd that there is no response from a moderator. Confused

Hi Rick,

This is weird,  I have registered at the other sight but haven't read all the how too's.
If I remember correctly we started out prednisone journey about the same time,  are
you taking you 10mg. daily in the a.m.?  I am really feeling the effects of 5mg.  its tough.
I may try alt. day,  7 and 4 to see if my own adrenals will come alive.

freesia, are you okay on your hydrocortisone?  After researching thats not a bad idea,
if our inflammation stays under control..Let me know how its working...at 5mg.  somedays
I can't walk across the floor and chew gum at the same timeCry...extremely tired.
Blood pressure has been getting real low,  like 97/67..
Hope everyone is having a great day!!

Kacee

Hi Kacee,

I'm not on 10mg any longer and haven't been for awhile.  I couldn't edit my signature (that shows up at the bottom of posts) because of the suspected 'hack' I mentioned above.

I'm currently on 6mg... 5mg AM, 1mg PM.  But four days ago I had to go up to 7 mg (6 and 1) for three days as I was having more shoulder and hip discomfort (feels like bursitis). Just today I went back to 6 and will alternate between 6 and 7 for a week or two and see how it goes. I sure want to avoid an all-out-flare if possible.

Hope the 7/4 works for you.  That will be an average of 5.5 per day.  It's tough knowing what our body needs to maintain a certain comfort level (or "maintenance dose"). The only way to know is to try it and see if it works.

As for the other site... may I suggest you go to that site and scroll all the way down till you see the 'Administrative and Technical' section and click on "Having a technical problem".  In that section, there is a 'sticky' called, "Navigating this Forum" with some step-by-step instructions. Hope this helps.

Hi KaCee,
I hope you come over to the other site...I still tend to get a little "lost" over there at times, but it's a fun site. I don't know what happened to this one.  I also hope you get your medication straightened out. Who is telling you that 5 mg is what you need? It just may not be enough. I wanted to get off pred so bad, I couldn't admit that 5 mg was not enough, and I tried to reduce further but it's been terrible since then. I think I really set myself back.  And I believe that the rheumy didn't recognize a flare, instead she sent me on this wild goose chase with the hydrocortisone (at least that's how I feel about it now).

I am off the hydrocortisone and back on prednisone. My feeling is that they hydro doesn't work as well to control the inflammation.  I'm at 6.5 mg pred now. But I think that I needed to be treated as if it were a flare, because I used to be comfortable at 6.5 and now, due to all this tinkering with the dosage, I'm having problems. Or maybe something new is happening?

I have low BP, too. Do you normally have higher BP than 97/67 ? Also, has the doctor checked your hemoglobin and iron? You might be anemic like I am...my primary care doctor sent me to a hematologist and I've been taking large doses of iron for over a month now. I just had some blood tests yesterday and should be finding out soon if the iron is working.

Keep us posted...and try the other site! I shied away from it for a long time, but finally got tired of talking to myself here, basically! Smile
