I was dx'd a year after our first DD was born, but my jaw had been bothering me for months. During the last month of the pregnancy I couldn't undo making a fist without having to use my other hand to peel the fingers back straight. Several years before one of my middle fingers had been bothering me, couldn't bend it and it was swollen and sore. I thought I'd hurt it during volleyball, in hindisght, it was probably the first sign of RA.

I was dx at 39. My kids were teenagers. Now they are 16 and 21. It's 12:32 here in central IL and my son's golden 16th b-day. I am going to try to get up in the morning before he goes to school to wish him a happy day and give him a big hug.
Welcome to the sight and I wish you all better days ahead!

I struggled with escalating degrees of palindromic arthritis prior to giving birth. Was finally diagnosed with RA a few weeks after.
I have experienced intense RA symptoms about 6 weeks after the bith of both my boys.

The symptoms for my daughter came on after she finished breast feeding her 2nd child. She didn't breast feed the 1st one and the doctor said it may have been brought out after breast feeding with the hormone changes. I also have RA and mine started as my hormone changes around 40. My daughter is currently pregnant again an of course no symptoms.

On the flip side of this question.
My wife got pregnant from arthritis!
In the early days of my diagnosis i would spend more time in bed resting, so my wife bought a tv for the bedroom and came and spent more time in there with me cuddling up. one thing led to another and i now have a wonderful 11 year daughter.
Unfortunatly the TV broke, my wife divorced me and i still have arthritis......

I was dx when my 2nd son turned 1 1/2. I am currently pregnant again and terrified for what's to come, in more ways than one.
