Hi all I will formally introduce myself when I have more time to write my mini novel
I was diagnosed 2+ yrs ago with SLE lupus, arthragia,colitis, hyopthyroid, fibromyalgia and migraines
( my doc is a rheumatologists BTW)
Anyway
I always had a positive HIGH ANA and have been treated with prednisone
for the SLE lupus and I have been puzzled along with my doctor
as to why my anti dsdna has been sky high compared to the lab values since Sept last yr
I
had a blood test in Sept with High Anti dsDNA then tests were repeated
in Jan with high anti ds dna and then again in April, my doc is
confused to the negative ana and high positive ds dna I can tell you I
KNOW I am flaring and these blood test confirm it to me,
Does anyone have any helpful insight
My
dad has rheumatoid arthritis and my sister has ulcerative colitis my
other sister has thyroid disease and we have juviniel (my neice 9yrs+)
and type 2 diabities all auto immune diseases ( I was just waiting for
mine
)when I first got sick we didn't know what it was they found it on a
fluke, I went to 3 other doctors to confirm diagnosis and every ANA
test came back HIGH with high titers and speckled patterns, they never
fluctuated until I started steroid treatment then the ANA went away and
the ds dna is high.
Its like I have the illness but the dsdna confirms activity as in flare thats my guess
Anyway
any help would be greatly appreciated and I guess I kind of introduced
my self you guys got lucky this is short compared to what I was going
to say
