Glad to hear it Lynn it has gotten to point I am afraid of even posting in the RA segment since we have a few here that feel that they can rule as to who can be here and who can not. I can't take it at this time, my PA has really taken up with me again and I just don't need the aggrevation. Shoulders and neck are really hurting me and get this I now have 4 toes that have bent upwards and when I stand up they don't touch the floor anymore!!! lol Hands are still constantly hot I can melt chocolate w/o a double boiler!!! lol Take it easy Lynn I will still be around but I am trying to stay away from the negativity. xoxoxxo meme

Little monkey Lynn has always given some great postings. She is just trying to help many here who feel fustrated due to the fact you have certain people chasing people off of this site sight with their viciousness. This site always had a lot of visitors and members but so many are scared to post here due to the reprecussions that happen if certain people don't like what you post. Lynn has always been a big supporter of people on this board and she has alway made me smile. meme

Hi Monkey. I just want to let you know, Lynn is a blessing to many in this RA forum, including me. She takes a good deal of time to search many, many different websites and post new findings concerning RA, the process of RA, new thinking and trends on how to treat RA, connections between RA and other diseases or syndromes, (like heart disease, lung disease, Reynards, Fibro, etc...), new medications and advances in medications for RA, as well as encouraging and supporting others to post what is going on in their lives in living with RA, and even what she, personally, has had to deal with in having RA. I've noticed, or at least it seems to me, she often sees a post by someone here dealing with a particularly scary and devastating issue and does her best to look up specific articles concerning their issue so they may be better armed in speaking with their doctor or to deal with it in their lives.

Maybe if you just read her articles you would find information concerning your disease and, in the process, learn what you should be aware of in dealing with your disease. Maybe you find it useful to ignore facts of rheumatoid arthritis, but I, personally, have found that mind set to be dangerous. It is easy to shoot the messenger, perhaps even easier than dealing with the disease itself. Concerning grief, (which exist in dealing with RA frequently) this stage is called "denial".

I understand how sometimes someone may just rub you the wrong way, perhaps for a particular reason or not, I'm embarrassed to admit I have done this with certain politicians, preachers, news anchors and Donald Trump. So, I can see where you just might not care for her, but please, don't assume she begins "to lose audience and credibility, much like a parent who yells at their kids much of the time." This is just not true, so please don't speak as though you speak for the masses on this forum. I'm not trying to change your mind about Lynn, just stating she is definitely a boon for the forum. It's fine if you choose not to read her post; not to speak for Lynn, but I feel fairly sure she wouldn't mind. Why don't you come on in to the forum and introduce your self, we always welcome everyone dealing or newly diagnosed RA.

What is Libel

Libel is defined as the defamation of a person, business, group, product, government, or nation that is made in written or printed words or pictures. In order to be libel, the claim must be in writing, it must be false and the person making it must state or imply that it is factual. In other words, libel means printing or implying something negative as if it were true, when it is not. The publication where the libel occurs is assumed to be read by persons other than the person defamed.

How does libel differ from slander?

Slander, another legal term, is also a false, defamatory, and often malicious statement. The difference between slander and libel is that slander is spoken and libel refers to written words and pictures. Libel covers any form of defamation other than spoken words or gestures.

What is harassment

First, you must clearly tell the harasser to stop. Generally speaking, it is unwise to communicate with the harasser. However, as soon as you determine that you are truly being harassed by someone, you must very clearly tell that person to stop. You do not need to explain why, just state that you do not want the person to contact you in any way in the future.

Do Not respond to any further messages of any sort from the harasser. Do Not have anyone else contact the harasser on your behalf. It is common practice for the harasser to claim that you are harassing him/her, but if you aren’t contacting the person, then it is clear that you aren’t the harasser.

Call ISU Public Safety and ask to speak to a Public Safety officer regarding any on-line incidents.

If you are being physically threatened, you must involve law enforcement. Contact your local police department and Public Safety.

If you believe yourself and/or your children to be in immediate danger, please dial 911.

Complain to the appropriate parties. If you are harassed in a chat room, contact whoever runs the server you were using. If you are harassed on any kind of instant messaging service, read the terms of service and harassment policies they provide and use any contact address given there. If someone has created a website to harass you, complain to the server where the site is hosted.

If you are being harassed via e-mail, complain to the sender’s ISP and any e-mail service (Hotmail) used to send the messages.

Save EVERYTHING! Do not delete messages, chat logs, websites, etc. Place them in a separate folder on your hard drive or onto a floppy disk/zip disk or CD-ROM, and print out a hard copy.

The cause of rheumatoid arthritis is unknown. Even though infectious agents such as viruses, bacteria, and fungi have long been suspected, none has been proven as the cause. The cause of rheumatoid arthritis is a very active area of worldwide research. It is believed that the tendency to develop rheumatoid arthritis may be genetically inherited (hereditary). It is also suspected that certain infections or factors in the environment might trigger the activation of the immune system in susceptible individuals. This misdirected immune system then attacks the body's own tissues. This leads to inflammation in the joints and sometimes in various organs of the body, such as the lungs or eyes.

It is not known what triggers the onset of rheumatoid arthritis. Regardless of the exact trigger, the result is an immune system that is geared up to promote inflammation in the joints and occasionally other tissues of the body. Immune cells, called lymphocytes, are activated and chemical messengers (cytokines, such as tumor necrosis factor/TNF, interleukin-1/IL-1, and interleukin-6/IL-6) are expressed in the inflamed areas.

Environmental factors also seem to play some role in causing rheumatoid arthritis. For example, scientists have reported that smoking tobacco increases the risk of developing rheumatoid arthritis.

ron doesn't have RA, doesn't know anything about RA and isn't interested in learning anything about RA.

As far as I can tell, his major goal in life is trolling the web looking for unmoderated health boards. He can't post on moderated ones because his rude/crude behavior gets him booted off and banned.

When challenged about his ideas concerning health he becomes ugly and mean. He sends people who dare post things that refute what he believes nasty private messages and then co-ops their names.

He must be omnipotent, because he can tell everything about the posters here without knowing them. Either that or he's just your run of the mill misogynist because every women here is fat, ugly and ignorant...according to ron.

One could say that he is a very small, angry man who is lonely and uses this kind of attention seeking behavior to make himself feel worthwhile, important, listened to, etc.

Fortunately, no one is listening to him. Have you seen how many people actually read his posts....
